Just thought others might like to know, there is an interesting article
on "Gluten Intolerance and Auto-Immune Diseases" in the December, 2002
issue of Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients.  This is an
alternative medical journal that often has interesting articles, they
have a web site at www.tldp.com.  They have an archive there of older
articles you may find of interest, but the current one does not appear
to be available.
