Thank-you for all the help with chicken wings.
Most agreed that cooking them in a crock pot is too much--crock pots are
better for tough meats. Mine fell apart in the crock pot. Good idea is to
cook them in the oven and use crock pot to travel or keep warm.
Helpful hint was to line the pan with aluminum foil when baking as this
helps with clean up.
A lot of people have tried several different sauces of combinations with
honey, soy sauce, tomato sauce-- most agreed the Sweet Baby Ray's Honey
barbecue sauce is soo good. Someone adds grape jelly to make it sweeter.
Another uses one part barbecue sauce/ 1/3 part maple syrup and 1/2 part
ketchup. Another marinates the wings in sauce and then cooks.
If using a deep fryer--soy flour is the best coating and add sauce before
serving.
I made them again last night and they were delicious. I lined my pan with
foil--placed Tyson frozen wings( UPC # 23700 00525) on the foil and baked
as directed. I added the Sweet Baby Rays sauce the last 15 mins and done.
Plan on trying different sauces in the future--but how to prepare them
is in the oven. I will use crock pot for warming and transporting.
Thanks,
Mary in Boston
