Hi Celiac ListServe members,

I bought a Scharffen-Berger bitter-sweet chocolate bar, then e-mailed them a
Celiac query. They answered that their products are GF (quoted below). The
bar didn't give me any symptoms.

Their products are Kosher (a description of their Kosher certification
process is onsite) and most are pareve (don't contain milk). The site has
some GREAT recipes that look easy to make GF (including chocolate macaroons
that would be Kosher for Passover). They are easy to print or download.
There's also an article re: potential health benefits of various foods
(green tea, red wine, etc.) that they believe may indicate that chocolate
also could confer health benefits. They point out areas where further
research should be done. I found the article very interesting.

Although they make several 1 oz. and 3 oz. chocolate bars, these people are
chocolatiers, not candy makers. Since I'm a chocoholic but don't like many
candy bars, their products are perfect for me. All their products can be
bought on-line. They also have a store locator on-line.

I have no connection with the company. I'm just happy to be able to buy
good quality, GF cocoa, unsweetened, bitter-sweet and semi-sweet cooking
chocolate and candy bars and thought someone else might be interested, too.
