Many thanks to the folks who sent in their recipes for this popular snack.
The proportions varied considerably which only tells me this is a flexible
recipe that you can adapt to your own taste.
Most common proportions are:
9c or 13oz box Rice Crunch Ems
1c Semi Sweet Choc Chips
1/2c to 1c Peanut Butter
1/4c to 1/2 c butter or marg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c to 2c powdered sugar
Combine butter, peanut butter, chocolate, in medium pan over med-low heat
or in microwave. Stir constantly until melted and mixed. Pour cereal into
very large bowl. Drizzle chocolate mixture over cereal and stir to coat.
Place powdered sugar in large sack, add cereal and shake to coat. Rest of
wax paper or refrigerate for 30 min. Store in airtight container.
This recipe is also kn
own as garbage or reindeer droppings in some families.
