In the past few weeks I have been tinkering with some of the training
philosophy taught by Pavel tsatsouline, essentially daily lifting routines
consisting of only 2-4 movements (deadlift, press, pull-ups etc). Each lift
is performed for only two sets of five reps. The poundage is cycled in a
wave like fashion from work out to work out. I have been tinkering with
Excell and tracking my training and looking at the intensity. Professor
devany's program produces a power law distribution, as does the training I
am currently performing. If the intensity and frequency are relatively high
but the total volume is low the power law is maintained and I avoid
overtraining. this has been a nice change of pace and i have increased the
poundages on my lifts quite a bit. Just curious if anyon has tried this
more frequent, low volume training to maximize neurological action on
strength.
