Hello Friends,
Here's what I've learned about GF food on route 90. Very little.
Some of the oases have a Wendy's, but I don't know where or how far apart
they are.
The best suggestions were to carry a small refrigerator which will
operate off a car battery. Bring safe foods and snacks from home. Or, in
New York State there are several Wegman's grocery store.
A list of Wegman's food (33 pages) was developed under the supervision
of Janet Flynn RD, Consumer Affairs Quality Assurance group (1-800-WEGMANS
ext.
4760). There are stores throughout New York State, Pennsylvania and New
Jersey.
I could get off the interstate in Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse to shop if I
had to. I imagine many large grocery chains have gluten free foods if you
want to take the time to shop.
Our trip is 1170 miles, so I think I'll try for the refrigerator. But
Debbie at WEGMANS was so nice, I might stop in Rochester to shop. The store
is huge and must have all sorts of wonderful things. Eat in or take out or
buy.
Happy travels,
Virginia
