I am not saying that celiac is the cause of early menopause I am just
wondering aloud the impact celiac has on a womans' body.
I was diagnosed at 34 with celiac disease. At age 38 I started having very
erratic periods after years of "every 28 days". Concerned I mentioned it to
my doctor and he said it might be the start of menopause but I was quite
young. At age 40 I realized that it had to be menopause after watching a
commercial on TV that listed my symptoms to a T. Doctor did blood work and
sure enough menopause. At 41, I have not had a period in 8 mths, I have
night sweats and hot flashes, less bladder control, etc. I had tried oral
hormones last year but my migraines worsened. Has anyone tried transdermal
hormones. I am trying Black Cohosh now. Any remedies that helped the hot
flashes would be greatly appreciated. The hot flashes while holidaying in
Hawaii were unbearable at times.
I could tabulate answers to the following questions from the celiac females
on the list just to see if there is a pattern.
1. age at diagnosis
2. age of menopause onset
3. age of full menopause
