The information on use of ginger to relieve heartburn, reflux, etc.
was interesting, and I kept reading thinking surely someone would use
ginger as I do - but no.

There is always a "hand" of ginger root in our kitchen. About every
other day I make tea by adding a few slivers of freshly cut ginger
root to a cup of boiling water, let it steep for five minutes, and
then sip. Delightful flavor, refreshing, and delicious - and a lot
better than ginger ale, which is much too sweet for my taste buds.
The ginger is, of course, used also in Chinese wok cooking, or grated
(easier if you freeze it first) and mixed with whipped cream for a
light and tasty addition to sweet and perhaps heavy desserts. Try
it, you'll like it. Gayle K
