Hi,

As I was shopping for various flours at the Asian Grocery yesterday, I
came across a package of something that looked like oatmeal but was
labled "Pounded Young Rice".

I purchased a package and cooked it in the microwave this morning as I
would normally do for oatmeal. 1/2 cup pounded young rice and about 3/4
cup water with a dash of salt for 2 minutes.

With a little butter and brown sugar this had the texture, taste and
appearance as close to oatmeal as anything I have seen since my daughter
was diagnosed over 2 years ago!!

Pounded Young Rice is a product of the Phillipines. The package also
had a sticker on the front "Anti-Breast Cancer" and had a statement on
the front saying that the program was made possible by funds recieved
from the State Breast Cancer Fund.

I live in California, but I hope that this product is available in other
states.

If you used to enjoy oatmeal you might want to give this a try.

Good Luck,

Beth
