Another important factor in the *causation* of leaky gut syndrome is formula
feeding instead of breastfeeding. There are sme theories that vaccines can
also damage the gut and cause leaky gut syndrome - setting up autism that's
caused by leaky gut syndrome - or more directly caused by brain damage from
ingesting gluten and casein. That's still fairly theoretical though - at
least the part that vaccines can play a role in causing leaky gut issues.
The other two points mentioned are quite provable and not as theoretical,
easier to document and determine causation - re: formula damage causing leaky
gut (in other words, lack of breastmilk) and brain damage caused by
casein/gluten in certain individuals.
Sorry for clogging the list. I didn't see the initial post asking for info.
For those of you contemplating pregnancy, or expecting, it's important to
consider the risks of feeding formula when making decisions...and not just
for short term health (ie diarrhea, ear infections, SIDS etc) but also long
term health - IBS/IBD, crohn's, colitis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes,
lymphoma, other cancers, breast cancer (for baby and you), etc....
Take care,
