Danna Korn, author of Kids With Celiac Disease - A Family Guide to Raising
Happy, Healthy, Gluten-Free Children, will do a book-signing event (books for
purchase will be available) and answer your questions. Feb.24, Saturday,
Caltech, Beckman Institute Auditorium Courtyard, noon-1pm, Wilson Avenue
(between California Ave. and Del Mar Blvd.) in Pasadena, California.
Kids With Celiac Disease covers everything from medical issues to shopping,
from food preparation to menu and snack ideas (including junk food!), and
from eating outside the home to behavior management. An extensive resource
section offers useful contacts for products and services.
We anticipate several group leaders of Autism Parent Support Groups will
attend to meet Danna and learn about celiac disease. They report success
using a gluten-free, casein-free (milk products) diet to help their autistic
children. See www.gfcfdiet.com or Autism Network for Dietary
Intervention, http://www.autismndi.com/
They report this gf/cf diet also helps some children with ADD/ADHD.
Danna will be located in a covered courtyard area and beautiful parklike
setting on the Caltech campus. Free parking on Wilson.
Interested parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, counselors, health-
care professionals, etc. are encouraged to attend. This is an exciting
opportunity to spend an hour sharing information across groups that are just
beginning to learn about each other. Spread the word!
Following Danna's book signing: Free event/open seating "Bioengineered Foods
and Celiac Awareness" in Beckman Institute Auditorium, 1-3pm.
Sponsored by CDF Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena Connections Group (a support
group for people with celiac disease).
