Our 14 month old baby girl was diagnosed with Celiac Disease a week ago
and has been off Gluten ever since. She is showing signs of
improvement but has not gained any weight. The doctors may put her
into the hospital to have a tube put through her nose and down into her
stomach for direct nutrient feeding for 24 hours a day for 4 days. The
other possibility would be to put her on steroids to help her get over
this hump. Has anyone of you had one or both of these procedures with
your CD child and what was the result and process ? The doctor is
leaning toward the tube. Any information you have would be
appreciated. Thank you very very much.
