<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hello all. This is the first time I've posted a message, so first I'd like to say hi. Second, I'll give a bit of history to see if there is someone out there who can give me some advice. I've been having digestive problems for a little over a year now. First, I was told I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Then after some pushing on my part, I was given a blood test to check for Celiac's and it indicated I had it. So, I went in for a biopsy and unfortunately it came back inconclusive. The doctor said that my intestine was slightly inflamed and that there was some damage to my microvilli, but that he couldn't make a positive diagnosis. However, my doctor told me to go on the gluten-free diet for 2 months and see how I feel. If I don't start to feel better, then I'm to go in for a colonoscopy. I'm confused about all this, but I've followed his instructions. My first question is: Is there any other disease that causes damage to the microvilli of the small instestine? Second, is there another disease or intolerance that cause yellow stool, because I've been on the diet for 4 weeks now but I still have this. I also wanted to ask about some food items and a drug. Does anyone know if the drug Lorazepam (aka Ativan) has gluten in it? For the food items, I'm curious about these: Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Resees peanut butter cups, and certain meat brands that a celiac should stay away from. I know this is a lot to ask, but if someone out there could help me I'd really appreciate. Although I realize you all are not doctors, I'm coming to realize that most Celiacs know more about this disease than most doctors. Not knowing for sure what's wrong with me has put me into a state of high-anxiety limbo, and I'm desperate for some guidance! Thanks, Liz/Virginia
