If HGs consumed soups/stews then there is absolutely no reason to
exclude legumes from the diet either.  But the premise seems to
be that "paleo" foods are those that are edible in the raw state,
so that they have been a part of the food supply for a long time,
since before cooking. Is this the case for pine needles?  I
confess that I have no idea what the answer might be.
