I have been GF for 10 years and restricted from fresh dairy products most
of that time. Most cheeses were permissible and cooked milk products in
small quantities, but anything resembling fresh cold milk, ice cream, and
even yogurt would result in cramps.

Earlier this summer I read an article that suggested a small daily dose
of milk everyday was a possible solution. Since June I have been having
a small glass of milk, four ounces, with a full breakfast. Pinch me--I
can eat ice cream again! I can't explain why this worked and obviously I
did not have a very serious lactose problem to begin with, but I am very
pleased with this experiment.
