Listmates,

An epi pen is epinephrine. The epipen auto injector is a disposable drug
delivery system designed for emergency self-administrtion to provide rapid
convenient first aid for individuals sentitive to potentially fatal
allergic reactions.

The general concensus is that epipens are not necessary for gluten
reactions as it is not an allergic reaction, not an allergy at all. No one
who has responded used an epi pen for a gluten reaction. Those who have
epi pens also have other severe allergies such as bee sting, peanut or
wheat.

Because my son does not show signs of any allergies, we will stop filling
our prescription for epi-pens. We always have benedryl around if he
develops any minor allergies and we may have him allergy tested some time
in the future. Thanks! Clare Belchertown MA
