If the CMOS battery dies must one always replace it with a battery of the same type? My battery is a 3.6 volt NiCad. Is it permissible to replace that with a Lithium battery of about that same voltage, or perhaps just a tad less. I am worried about the fact that the Li battery is probably not a chargeable type and there must be a charging circuit for the NiCad on the motherboard. Actually, I've already done this and so far (several days now) things seem OK. Should I be worried?
