<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Thank you all so much for such a great response!! Sorry for the delay in bringing you my summary.Hang on it's lengthy..... * try to find a registered/trained Trichologist ....registered with the International Association of Trichologists....that would be the person to help you with your hair loss... *Eight yrs. ago when I became a celiac and went on a GF diet the hair loss stopped. It took about 6 months .. to have my hair look normal...the cause is malnutrition....be sure to take a vitamin tab daily...I use Thergran-M ...it is GF.. *Low thyriod can sometimes cause hair loss...before I was diagnosed I experienced hair loss... *Hair loss may well be from the lack of nutrients because of the malabsorbtion that untreated CD causes.. *..hair loss is the result of hypothyriodism.... * I have HH (iron overload) ...I have the hair loss and gallbladder removal due to the HH... *I was diagnosed in my 20's ..noticed hair loss...with the help of a protien treatment for my hair and the GFdiet my hair grew back again.... *One person has problems with eyelash loss...may be others *I was diagnosed w/ gallstones..advised to have it removed...I had no sympotms ..I declined...I am also hypothyriod and type one diabetic...also had lesion on lower rt. lung..had it removed...could be possible side effect of CD...ws told I had a hemangioma on my liver that it is not a tumor but a collection of blood vessels and nothing should be done about it...(MY NOTE REGARDING THIS...... A HEMANGIOMA IS WHAT THEY CALL A BLOOD-VESSEL TUMOR - MINE WAS ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY LIVER ABOUT TO RUPTURE WHICH WOULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO HEMMORRAGE - IT DID NEED TO BE REMOVED.....MELINDA) *I think there is a relation to CD and gallbladder pblms. if your "good cholesterol level is low (mine always was prior to the diet) I experienced hair loss before diagnosis..think this is due to malnutrition... *I also have had a hemangioma on my liver...Gastroenterologist did'nt feel that it was any problem (MY NOTE REGARDING THAT...MY DR. TOLD ME IF IT IS ENCASED IN THE LIVER IT IS NOT MUCH OF A DANGER - MELINDA) Also she didn't feel there is any link between hemangioma and CD... *Let me take a wild guess about the gallbladder...some people who go on a very strict medical diet to lose weight where they eat no food..just have prepared drink w/ no fat for several months...lose weight...develop gallbladder pblms because of lack of fat... * I have hair loss due to malabsorption...I and kids had appendix removed...I had gallbladder removed at age 20...teen daughter also had hers removed...found on internet if one has bad gallbladder one is a celiac or vice-versa...had maga intestinal obstructions until GF diet... THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO RESPONDED MELINDA - FROM TEXAS
