Don and Rachel Matesz <[log in to unmask]> And now, for something completely different! Sorry about getting off topic. One more question about the taboo topic of philosophy (aka religion): Is there a list where people discuss the social, philosophical, moral, aspects of diet, in particular, Paleo diet? If so, please let me know. If not, I'll just channel my energy... To be on topic, Don and I have found that we sleep much less now than when we ate vegan and macrobiotic diets. We typically sleep about 6 hours per night, sometimes less. When we ate grain-based diets we had a hard time staying awake even during the day. Sometimes we'd get verry groggy when driving a car after lunch. Scary! After dinner, one or both of us would feel very woozy, groggy as early as 7:30 pm. I'm sure that the researchers were using people on SAD or MAD (Modern American Diets) which can make people very woozy! Re: Raw meat; it's not just good for dogs. It's good for humans although getting over the initial fear of it is the biggest hurdle. Socially it may be unacceptable, but one can certainly do it at home.... and pack raw meat in a lunch box (if you're willing to answer the "what's THAT?" some may query if they see you noshing). Currently, 80% or more of the meat (as in red meat, fish, and poultry) we eat is uncooked. Easy on the cook. Never had a stomach upset. Rachel Matesz
