Hi!

    My wife and I are not celiacs, but our 36 year old Down Syndrome
daughter is. It never occured to us in her first couple of years that
the cross contamination possibllities within a toaster are atrocious.

    SOLUTION: An obvious one, but more than half of the Celiacs in our
chapter had not thought of this. We bought a Toastmaster Pastry Toaster
with four slots. Each side of two slots is separately controlled. We
have labelled "gluten" and "non-gluten" with a black magic marker on
each side pairs. I'm not pushing the brand as I'm sure there are many
like this. If this fits you, it might be a good way to avoid cross
