<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I apologize for the lack of information on my post regarding the DNA sampling that is being done. Many of you requested further information. Also, self diagnosed cases can participate if they meet the other criteria. Here is the information, (if you meet this criteria, YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE!): From the University of Utah (edited): We need any set of two or more related celiac or DH cases. Two of these cases must be biopsy or antibody test proven. It does not matter how they are related - except that we can't use affected parent child pairs - unless there is another affected relative in addition to the parent and child. In addition we would like to get samples from both parents of the cases if possible. We will extract the DNA from the cases and their parents and do lots of genetic fingerprinting. We will also screen all immediate relatives of cases (siblings, parents ,and children) with the endomysial antibody test if they are interested. Self diagnosed cases need to have two other proven cases somewhere in their family before we can use them. We pay for all the expenses. I can be contacted at 1-800-444-8638 ext. 1-5075 or at [log in to unmask] Jeff Black [log in to unmask] From Columbia University (edited): We are seeking families preferably with 2 biopsy diagnosed individuals; however, we will accept families with only biopsy diagnosed and additional members blood positive. Interested parties should contact me at [log in to unmask] for information. Collection kits are forwarded to members and expenses are covered. Michele Pallai
