IMHO, USB can hold only 127 devices; but long before that,
the power required to operate all those chained devices will
be over the level that motherboard can supply. So the best
idea is not to chain at all, but get a USB hub instead. If you can't
avoid chaining, at least try to buy self-powered devices...
