<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I recently received updated lists from Wendy's and McDonalds. The McDonalds list I received is current and addresses 14 different allergies. It seems they are very on top of this, which gives them an A+. On their current list it shows that their hash browns are indeed gluten-free. They also list the fries and many other items that I had no idea were gluten-free. Ice cream sundaes with caramel, hot fudge, or strawberry toppings, etc. I don't have their 800 number, but the number I called to get this extensive list is 630/623-6198. They also list their items that "do" contain gluten. I also have received an updated list from Wendy's. They list their fries as gluten-free, however they have a special notation. It reads: Due to the daily rotation of oil in our fryers, there is a chance that French fries could be cooked in oil previously used to cook breaded chicken nuggets or fish. After receiving my new Wendy's list, I visited my local one and asked if they fry their fries in the same oil as the breaded products. They said no. But I believe what the notation is saying is that oil from the day before could've been used for breaded products the day before, but the next day could be used for the fries. I would suggest you just ask your local Wendy's about their procedure. Maybe making them aware, they may be careful in their rotation. Wendy's also list their Hot Stuffed Potatoes, Chili, Cheese Sauce, etc. as gluten-free. AND THEIR FROSTY!!!! YEAH!! I don't have their 800 number either, but I have this one: 614/764-3100 I hope this is helpful additional information. Sidona/San Diego
