The differential means that you have to have a particular SCSI adapter card to
support it.... but well worth it in my opinion... with differential SCSI you can
achieve up to 80Mbs trasfers of data and also
you can locate the drives up to 83ft  from the computer .... the downside is
that the adaptec AHA-2944W card is expensive. I am currently
running an IBM 9.1gb and a 2.1 gb differential SCSI drives.
