Ken,

PnP dynamically assigns resources for all PnP equipment.  If you want the
modem to appear on COMM3, then you must either:

A. set jumpers on the modem itself to manually assign the port and
    I/O addresses.

or

B. Remove the hardware that is currently using COMM 3 and reboot so that
     the modem is assigned COMM 3.  _OR_  You may have to remove all
     cards from the PC and install the Modem first.
     This option may or may not set the modem at the desired address.  If
it
     doesn't work, then you *might* get it set by playing around with
various
     combinations of installed hardware.
