It depends on the brand and variety. Many are the equivalent of 2% which is not really good under 2 years. Our choices for higher fat ones were VitaSoy (not the light), Eden Soy (contains corn), and Trader Joe's Soy Um. We buy the Soy Um Vanilla by the case. It has about half of the fat and protein of what regular milk would. Our pediatrician said not to up the quantity of soy milk to try to make up the difference since it would just fill her up and she wouldn't be getting other things. Some things we use to boost fat/protien intake are Kosher hot dogs and salami, hummus with extra oil in it. margerine on bread, frozen waffles, etc. We do eat quite a bit of meat, so I really don't worry about too much - my kid is definitely a carnivore! I did have to start limiting her fluid intake because she would always be asking for water and it took me a while to realize that she was really hungry and wanted a snack. Her weight had tailed off as of the last check up, but I think she's probably back on track now that she's getting more snacks. Other ideas might be dairy free muffins or quick breads. One other thing my daughter likes are fruit bars - they have some protein, but not fat.
