After off the meds I was Ok sugar but Dr. still wanted me to see a endocrinologist because my thyrod was too high due to meds. I saw the endocriologist and he said I have an insulin resistance problem and more that likely celiac. He said all of this runs together including the asthma. I have about 9 tests they are going to run on me on Monday, including the glucose tolerance and gladin (sp?) tests. <snip> Hi Vivian~ Sorry to hear of the landslide of medical problems- hang in there! I do know that the steroids used for keeping severe asthma in check do wreak havoc on blood glucose levels. It could be the meds are going to tamper with your ability to keep bg levels in stable ranges, since it appears the steroids are here to stay for the asthma treatment = / I have heard of steroids being the precursor to diabetes, like causing or spawining the condition. There are so many factors, like does diabetes run in your family etc.... Has anyone else experienced anything like this...I feel so wonderful! >>>No but I'm pretty sure I don't have the best circulation & have been dealing w/ dry cracked feet, and waking up with hands/arms having "pins & needles feeling" from not getting circulation. My whole life has been eczema, sinus, asthma, hair falling out, dry skin and consipation. I really feel all of this has been for the best and only more to come.... >>>It's nice to find an up side to a health problem = > It could be all the meds you had to take for other conditions are making the other problems surface???? Has anyone experienced anything like this? >>>>>Nope, but I have been working with different lotions and & creams & the sandpaper-like foot file to get my feet into better condition. Keep us posted on how your test results come back! Fran
