<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I received many replies to my post concerning visiting new relatives during the holidays. Thank you to everyone who replied. Most everyone advocated taking your own safe food, at least as a safeguard. Many talked to the hostess ahead of time in order to avoid hurt feelings. Plenty said the holidays are not the time to educate others on Celiac. I particularly liked this foresight. I have decided to take my own dishes that will also serve others. I really don't want to talk about my struggles with my health on the holiday. This issue has come up before at a family gathering but no one really took it seriously. People just didn't seem all that interested. I think they thought of it like one would think of someone who has an allergy to chocolate. I have not been officially diagnosed and so have not tried explaining anything in depth. Guess, I just don't feel the need to. Thanks again, Donna
