Leaving out the /S on the format command means it will NOT copy the system files to make the disk bootable. I set up new computers at work by booting to Win 95 (DOS), running the Network Clients, reformating the hard disk, SYS'ing the HD (since I do not have enough convential memory for the /S option with FORMAT) copying the setup files to the local HD from the network and running setup from the local C: drive. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Wayne Copeland | (651) 297-3391 State of Minnesota | (651) 296-5745 (fax) 390 North Robert St. | [log in to unmask] Saint Paul, MN 55101 | ------------------------------ Opinions expressed are mine and do not necessarily reflect those of my employer! ------------------------------------------------------------------- >>> Mike Bridges <[log in to unmask]> 10/21/98 01:40pm >>> I understood that the "s" was necessary on a system disk. What are the consequences of leaving it out?
