The first paragraph is as follows: Chicago, September 1, 1998 -- Beginning today, United Airlines is introducing a new line of special meals for all United First, United Business and United Economy customers on all domestic and US outbound international flights. In partnership with the Culinary Institute of America and Heart Smart Restaurants International, United has created the most comprehensive special meal program in the industry with hundreds of new recipes that meet the medica, dietary, ethnic and religious needs of its customers.... An attachment lists various types of diets and gf is listed under Medical Needs Diets. It says that special meals are available to all customers on domestic an dinternational flights, and they must be ordered at least 24hours in advance. My last "gf" meal on United was a bran muffin! I'm going to Seattle this month and will be flying United and plan to monitor to see if they now understand gf! Medical Meals are: diabetic, gf, low purine, low fat, non-lactose, low calorie, high fiber, bland, low protein, low sodium.
