The "OverDrive" version of the chip comes with a rake-like tool to fit between the CPU's pins and lever it out of such a socket. Your memory is correct: Independent groups of four. Some motherboards may support 30-pin SIMMs larger than 4MB, but without the manual I wouldn't risk it. David G
