Pat wrote of her low readings. When I  was first diagnosed as an adult
celiac (had been as an infant and told I outgrew it) my cholesterol
reading was very low. The gastroenterologist told me that was because
foods were not being absorbed. Once going gluten-free, cholesterol rose
significantly...and triglycerides rose when blood sugar readings were not
in good control. Since I exercise frequently, the "good" and "bad"
cholesterol readings have always been within normal range.

     I would assume Pat's readings will go up somewhat as her body
returns to to normal, absorbing the nutrients when gluten-free!
