<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hi List: Can celiacs masquerade under a diagnosis of either lupus (degeneration of connective tissues) or diverticulitis (inflammation of intestinal lining)? The reason I ask ... I have a friend (age 60) that's been recently diagnosed with lupus. He was originally diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Also, an aunt (age 70+) has been suffering for years with bowel problems & has gone through 2 operations to remove sections of her intestines. She still has problems & now diagnosed with osteoporosis. Surprisingly, she won't get the blood screening done for celiacs. Is a diverticulitis diagnosis pretty definitive or can that be mis-diagnosed? Thanks. Wendy, Exton, PA
