Brad,

You might try installing a new version of Acrobat reader from some other source
other than your CDROM.  I don't know to much about Acrobat Reader but maybe the
version or program on your cd disk is fixed to read only and on the other hand it
maybe an option when making the pdf files to make them read only.

Another idea is if the file opens up and looks like a html file in word, then try
saveing it and see what type of file it saves in.  If word wants to save in html
then save it like that and then open the file with your browser.
