<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> The Old Bay scoop.. Thank you, for all the replies, everyone has been so helpful. It is produced by McCormick & Co in Hunt Valley MD Ph# 1.800.632.5847 6 people reported OB to be GF. 1 person reported severe reactions to OB, thought it may be the MSG. Yes, I do not tolerate MSG. 1 person suggested possibly imitation seafood; it is put together with wheat starch. Hadn't thought about that.. although I don't think so in this case, great for the future knowledge. Plain Halibut I prepared myself. A few people suggested food poisoning. Since my housemate has eaten it and not had any problems I ruled that out. So I called McCormick and asked about gluten and MSG. The customer support representative assured me there was no MSG, no gluten, and they did not use flour on the lines. Unfortunately she did not seem very knowledgeable or helpful, just rather short and said their spices are gf. I do not think she was a fair representation of McCormick. From Bobbi: The customer service person seemed quite knowledgable and helpful. She told me that all of their pure spices and herbs are GF, but that some of their mixes are NOT, including chili powder and some of the curry mixtures. However, she could not guarantee that there would be no cross-contamination, although they clean their lines thoroughly between each seasoning^Ô In Conclusion- Old Bay seems to be tolerated by most. Possibly I got the 1 box of cross contamination or not gluten related. Know if I even smell gluten cooking my nose starts to run and my throat closes up. The only other questionable item in both meals was some Grey Poupon mustard used to make the salad dressing. Thought that was ok though. Thanks for all your support.. Happy eating Tanya in Seattle
