Many in the low-carb group groups eat 40 grams of carbs a day or less. Their goal is primarily weight loss. The low-carb eating puts them in ketosis, and many exhibit rapid weight reduction, at least initially. Although I limit my carbs, I am still too apprehensive to cut my intake to the point that I am registering on Keto Stix. I was wondering, Deanna, if you are on insulin or taking any diabetes medicine? My last HbA1c was 6.9 and I don't use anything. But many of the low- carbers report dramatic improvements in their triglycerides and cholesterol as well as glucose readings. They have been able to forego their medications, and in some cases even chuck their insulin. Susie
