The message below has been posted to PLLD-L, so please forgive us if you've already seen it. It's important enough news that we'd like you to share it with as many people as possible, including those on other listservs you frequent and any newsletters you edit or contribute to. Thanks in advance! --------------------------------MESSAGE------------------------------------- Julie Klauber of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System got in early and got a good price! ALA is now the exclusive distributor of UNIVERSAL ACCESS: ELECTRONIC RESOURCES IN LIBRARIES. Project DO-IT, funded by NSF and other sources, produces resources for serving people with disabilities to several audiences. This particular project for the library field was promoted in presentations at conferences and in articles. DO-IT produced a small run, and offered the product at $50. However, they do not have the resources to sustain its distribution . ALA is partnering with DO-IT in as a distributor that can better bring this product to the library field. We appreciate your testimonial of the product. At $75--$67.50 for ALA members--and including full reproduction rights for educational purposes, it is still a fine value. Those interested in a closer look can test drive the product on DO-IT's web site: http://weber.u.washington.edu/~bamf/UA -ph ___________________________________________ Patrick Hogan Acquisitions Editor, ALA Editions [log in to unmask] | 312.280.3240 http://www.ala.org/editions ___________________________________________
