Hello everyone Chris Louth asked me for more details reference my problem of a 'slight whistling noise on some tracks' when I make audio Cd's. Here we go: As per my last post, my hardware set up is: HP 4020i CD writer. SB 16 Sound card. The software I use is Easy CD audio and the basic SB 16 wave studio. I never use the microphone because the source of my recordings is usually records, CD's and sometimes tapes. This is the basic procedure I use: 1. Using the SB16 wave studio I will record the record/CD/tape as a wav file. 2. I always listen to the wave file to ensure it is good quality. I never find any evidence of the whistle sound at this stage. 3. I then drag and drop these 'good' files into the easy cd window and start recording. I have found that the files (records) that have the most whistle (I must state again that it is still minimal) are the ones that have slightly higher sounds. I am no expert on this subject so any assistance will be appreciated. Many Thanks...Mick PCSOFT: http://nospin.com or [log in to unmask]
