<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hello list, Posted to the list a few weeks ago about getting a GF prescription from Stokes Pharmacy in Medford, NJ. I got a few negative answers, therefore, I would like to clarify the reason for this pharmacy. The Stokes Medical Arts Pharmacy, Inc. (1-800-754-5222) is available to work with celiacs, their physician and local pharmacist for pharmacy services which include both prescription and non-prescription drug items which may not be available in local community medical systems. This service can be especially helpful in obtaining GF options for the celiac patient. Some of the prescription options included but not limited to are as follows: Gluten-free, preservative-free, color-free, sugar and alcohol-free, discontinued formulations, sterile products, hormonal replacement and alternative drug therapy. They can help with bulking agents and GF aids for constipation. They can prepare GF Tylenol and GF aspirin. NOTE THAT THIS PHARMACY SERVICE WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITH BOTH THE CELIAC AND THE CELIAC'S PHYSICIAN. They ARE NOT a prescription service that can operate for either prescription medications or over-the-counter medications without having medical direction. Ask for William J. Milazzo, Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) They can be reached by using the toll free number given, or by facsimile (1-800-440-5899) or by internet: stokesrx.com This info was given to me by the Greater Philadelphia (PA) Celiac Support Group.
