<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> One item I'd like to point out regarding dating.....for those with Celaic Sprue..... You are not damaged goods! Perfect people don't exist. Your date may have some health items or concerns themselves, but will not, on day one, lay out all their cards on the table (usually). Obviously if you like the person & want to continue to date, the topic will need to be addressed---- but the question is does the disease control you, or do you control the disease? So what if you order a salad w/ red wine vinegar & oil dressing? Often I'd rather do that than go through some big ordeal at the restaurant, interrogating every ingredient of every item. That to me is a pain in the neck & usually there is some gluten hidden in there or the cooking methods are questionable. I get tired of listening to myself having to ask the questions, so I have really tried to find existing things on the menu that *are GF*, or a simple revision- like no sauce, no bread etc... make it less of an ordeal, without having to engage in a lengthy explanation of Sprue. Hey- sometimes I just want to order lunch, I don't want to be the world crusader for Celiac Sprue. So just go & have fun--lighten up! Sprue is correctable & controllable- Just do a reality check that You are in control of it & not the other way around.
