I believe the argument is this: Without technology it would be impossible for humans to eat more than small quantities of these oils at a time, in the form of whole nuts, in which antioxidants are also present. Nut oils are highly unsaturated and prone to quick oxidation. Of course it is also true that the rendered beef tallow used in pemmican is not available without technology.
