DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHEAT ALLERGY & CD 1. If a person has a wheat allergy, they will not get a positive blood test result and a biopsy would not show flattened mucosa. RAST testing is useful in diagnosing wheat allergies. 2. A person does not have CD if blood tests do not show elevated levels (or a positive reading), but a person could still have a wheat allergy. 3. Wheat allergies will show symptoms in approx. 1 hour while CD reactions show maximum symptoms upto approx. 3 days after ingestion. Then, it will take the micro-villi another 3 days to regrow. The total time between ingestion & end of symptoms can easily be a week or more with CD. PRODUCTS OK TO USE: RICOTTA & COTTAGE CHEESE 1. Mr. Maggio riccotta cheese is made with cider vinegar.
