<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Again, apologies if this summary doesn't include your post to me, I've salvaged what didn't get wiped. Thanks to all who gave hints on where to look for candida info to give my drs. I seem to be responding to Diflucan, so far... In summary, it seems that there's a lot of cross-diagnosis between CD and yeast, at least self-diagnosed systemic candida which I read about all over the Web, but can't find a bona fide MD who's ever heard of it in anyone besides AIDS patients with lung candida. My own drs don't think that "systemic candida" could be a result of celiac-style malnutrition, but I'd better just stop before I rant, and let ya'll see what I saw for myself. Oh, a great site is Don Wiss' candida page (I think this is the URL) http://www.panix.com/~candida Healthful blessings, Amy ---------- My doctor believes I did have systemic candidiasis although my only lung problem is asthma ( and I had/have aches and PMS and bloating with pain and hundreds of sensitivites)so I took diflucan and nystatin and went on the candida diet which is also a gluten-free diet! Well, I will never be sure whether it was the diet or the medicine that helped my gut pain and PMS, but these problems are gone. The allergies will take time. My main reason for writing you is to pass on the source of help which revealed my allergies and my daughter's, including my daughter's gliadin and gluten sensitivities. The same lab can test for candida too and many other things. Results are mailed to your doctor. Unfortunately there is a charge of 119US for the blood allergy tests for all foods. The address is: MERIDIAN VALLEY CLINICAL LABORATORY 515 WEST HARRISON , SUITE 9 , KENT ,WA 98032 I wish I had also been tested for Candida, but my doctor believed I had it from all my symptoms. I did not have gluten and gliadin allergies, so in my case it probably is only Candida and not C.D., and in my daughter's case it is C.D. but could yeast also be a problem? ------- Please, please buy or borrow any of the books by Dr. Crook regarding yeast infections. Ex: The Yeast Connection and Women My daughter was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in December, 1996, and a friend recommended the book to me. My daughter began a limited recovery following our implementation of his recommendations, and began a rapid return to good health following a wheat challenge through which we learned that she has celiac disease. I also have problems with systemic yeast infection and have found a gluten free product by Solaray named Yeast-Cleanse which is very effective. If you cannot obtain this product look for a product which contains caprylic acid. It is a very effective herbal treatment for systemic yeast infections. ------ Pleas get two books THE YEAST SYNDROME, HOW TO HELP YOUR DOCTOR IDENTIFY AND TREAT THE REAL CAUSE OF YOUR YEAST-RELATED ILLNESS by John Parks Trowbridge, M.D. and Morton Walker, D.P.M.; and THE YEAST CONNECTION AND THE WOMAN by William B. Crook, M.D. These are the most comprehensive books on yeast I have ever read. And they are the ones I have taken into my Dr. so I could get help. I hope this will help you. They are not that expensive to get at any health food store. If they don't have them they can order them. Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions or you could call 1-509-968-4220. But I feel these books would answer all of your questions.
