I'm certainly no expert on the scientific side of AA, but just as an observer
of life, isn't this kind of like how the whole cholesterol misinformation
pitch started?  For both, when popular science started recommending that
people quit eating foods high in said substance, they failed to take into
account that the body needs *some* and is quite adept at manufacturing it for
itself if it has to.  They also fell into the fallacy that if a large amount
of said substance is found during a bad situation, *any* amount of said
substance must also be bad in every situation.

Am I the only person who thinks this way?
