<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Parallel to the recent messages about a Diet Exemption Card and what to tell our Pharmacist, I would like a few ideas presented, please, on what could be stated on a MEDICAL ALERT BRACELET, OR NECKLACE. It occurred to me that if there was a medical emergency and I was alone, unable to communicate, no one could tell the hospital, medics, etc. that I have celiac sprue and need a gluten free diet and drugs. Now what do we state on such a bracelet: "I have Celiac Sprue; cannot digest wheat, oats, rye or barley (gluten)."?? Do Dr. Murray or Cindy the Pharmacist in Texas have any suggestions as well? Could the words diet exemption be put on it, too? Or whatever it is that is stated on a diet exemption card. My reasoning, that the bracelet can stay on our wrists, or bracelets around our necks, however, cards get lost. I telephoned the 1 800 number yesterday of a company that produces these and it is sending me a form to fill out. It can be five lines, 20 spaces a line, however if there is that much writing, the print/engraving will be quite small. Thank you all in advance. Sarah Barnett Washington, D.C. [log in to unmask]
