I, too, have osteo at what I consider a very young age. Have been to doctors and received second and third opinions Have had the DEXA scan and now am visiting doctors to see what treatment I will adhere to. My biggest question is: what caused it???thyroid I have been taking for 20+ years, lack of hormone replacement therapy or malabsorption due to celiac disease? And how about Jane Brody's comment in the New York Times "Studies in women have demonstrated that exercising the body's long muscles - in the arms, legs and torso - against gravity can actually build n new bone, even late in life." If this is true, it is the only ray of hope I h have had since I was recently diagnosed. Would like to hear about other osteo experiences.
