In the past TCBY has provided a list of GF products, so this is a rather recent development. It may be a case of them just being overly cautious for fear of a lawsuit. (Sigh.) You can contact TCBY for more information: TCBY Enterprises, Inc. 1100 TCBY Tower 425 West Capitol Ave. Little Rock, AR 72201 (800) 688-8229, Fax: (501) 688-8246 Laura also wrote: LS> In addition, it stated that olive oil is usually not reliably pure LS> and may contain additives (?) that render it contaminated with LS> gluten... I'm not so sure about this one. In looking through the archives, I found numerous recipes that use olive oil, and I only found one caution with respect to it, as follows: -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Date: Tue, 2 Apr 1996 07:45:02 -0500 From: Jim Barron <[log in to unmask]> 60 minutes recently did a segment on adulterated foods in which they mentioned about 4 premium brands of olive oils that had been adulterated with corn oil. Anyone who knows or suspects that they react to corn should avoid olive oil and see if that helps. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- I'm not inclined to agree with CSA on this one. To be on the safe side, you could use other types of oil instead or contact the manufacturers of the brands of olive oil you use. But I don't personally believe that olive oil is a problem for celiacs. -- -- Jim Lyles ................... Home: [log in to unmask] -- Holly, Michigan, USA ........ Work: [log in to unmask] --
