<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Gayle Kennedy's description of her reactions to chemical and petrol fumes reminded me of a recently published (hardback) book that may be of special interest to those of you who have this problem. For the rest of us, it is a reminder that things could be worse. "Out of the World: A Woman's Life Among the Amish." by Mary Swander, is a memoir, written by a woman who moved to an Amish community in rural Iowa to escape as much as possible from the chemicals that were making her ill. Ms. Swander writes beautifully about life and friendships in her community, and her account of what it is like to be only a few catch-em-yourself frog legs away from starvation is a masterpiece.
