It has been discussed in the past on the list that infants under two years
of age may not be forming antibodies to gliadin, even though a biopsy would
show celiac disease. I have not been able to find these mentions. Also I was
wondering if there are any references in the literature to support this.

I'm asking as I have come across two people where their infants had antibody
tests done under this age. One was in Sweden, and based on a negative test
the parents were told the child did not have celiac disease, despite having
all the classic symptoms. The other was in the US, done on a 13 month old,
by a "very highly recomended" pediatric gastroenterologist.
