My family and I, the only Coeliac, are going for a nostalgic touring holiday
in England. However as I was diagnosed CD later in life, I know nothing
about availability of gluten free foods back home. In Australia, I eat rice
cakes instead of bread, my wife bakes many cakes bread buns, and with a
careful watch on ingredients stated on cans etc ensures no questionable
material is included in my diet.

Having business travelled into Vietnam, around Australia and to construction
camps in Papua Niu Guinea, eating out always presents a bit of a challenge
and a relationship often has to be cultured with the waiters and Hotel staff
to get the message over.

A bit of advice on availability of such food or alternatives in the UK would
be very helpful though. Are the rice cakes from down under declarable at
Heathrow customs counter, or to put it another way ; do I need to take a
copious quantity.

Thanks in anticipation.......
